Dear EHCMA Member:

Update: Hurricane Delta (WED-1130)

The Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management (HCOHSEM) is at Level 3 – Increased Readiness and monitoring Hurricane Delta with internal staff.

National Hurricane Center models have consistently pointed toward a Louisiana landfall late Friday afternoon. Local impacts are likely be limited to a rising chance of showers and higher winds beginning on Thursday. Communities along the upper Texas coast, including Galveston Bay, could see elevated tides of 1-3 feet above ground level.

A Tropical Storm Watch is in place from San Luis Pass to High Island. Partners should monitor the National Weather Service for updates.

At this time, there are no plans to activate the Emergency Operations Center or request in-person support from partners.

HCOHSEM will continue to monitor Hurricane Delta until the threat to Texas has passed.

Updates will be issued as needed.

Keep Safe,
