Protecting Air Quality
Member companies have taken a leadership position in improving air quality by pledging further reductions to help bring the Houston/Galveston area into compliance with federal standards for ozone. For example, the total quantities of reported emissions were reduced by 76 percent in the Houston region from fiscal year 2003 to fiscal year 2006.
The East Harris County Manufacturers Association’s Principles for Cleaner Air underscores its ongoing commitment to promote a State Implementation Plan (SIP) that promotes human health and protection of the environment while maintaining the economic and competitive strengths of this region.
