Dear Plant Manager,

NOTICE:  EHCMA will be emailing invoices for 2019 member dues to plant managers and the accounts payable contacts that we have on file.  EHCMA Invoices will be sent by COB Monday, 12/10/18. 

In recent weeks, we have been notified that many of you have received one or more emails claiming to be from me asking you to open attachments or click on links and enter personal or company information.  These emails are related to cyber-crime and are phishing attempts which are not originating from our email system. 

Apparently, my contacts were fraudulently obtained, by organized cyber-criminals, through either someone else’s email or computer or by intercepting an email sent by me, to EHCMA contacts.

As you know, cyber-crime has become rampant and targets every person who accesses Internet and email services.  We remain vigilant in making sure that our systems are secure and that we adhere to best practice standards to protect ours and your company’s data and information. 

We regularly send out legitimate broadcast emails and other communications using Jetty, MS Exchange and Constant Contact systems, all of which are secure.  Even still, we suggest that you view each email or communication carefully and look for signs that it might not be legitimate.  Things to watch for include: 

• Poorly worded content, misspelled words and grammatical errors
• Phone numbers that are outside of the 713, 281 or 832 area code
• Mouse over the sending email address and any links in the email to verify their origin.  When you mouse over the link or email address, the underlying site or email address will be visible
• Emails with attachments or links requesting personal, log in or account information.  We will never ask you for your login or personal information.
• Emails stating a sense of urgency to open an attachment or click on a link.
