The City of Baytown transitioned to a new and enhanced emergency mass notification system (powered by Rave), called Baytown Alert, which is now available to the community. Baytown Alert is a free service that allows individuals to receive alerts via voice, text message, and/or email about emergencies and other important advisories from Emergency Management, Fire, Police, and Public Works. Individuals also have the option to receive Short Message Service (SMS) text only if they choose. Those who were previously signed up in Swift Reach, were automatically enrolled in the new Baytown Alert system, but are encouraged to sign-up and create a new profile to update their information and set their notification preferences.
The goal is to increase cell phone sign-ups (or opt-ins) from anyone who lives, works, or visits the City of Baytown. Below is the Baytown Alert sign-up link and news release links for the City of Baytown’s News flash and Facebook page. Also, attached are the news release and infographics.
