Information re. the upcoming turnaround at the LyondellBasell La Porte Complex

No Picture

Good morning,

As a member of our community and as a courtesy to you as our neighbor, I wanted to reach out regarding the increase in activity you may notice at the LyondellBasell La Porte Complex. The Complex will conduct planned maintenance work (turnaround) on some of its units beginning at the end of January. Our other units will continue to operate as planned.

Residents and businesses close to our site will see increased traffic beginning in early February. Local law enforcement officers have been hired to manage traffic, including during shift changes from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., to minimize any potential impact to the community.

Update to add: traffic will be impacted mainly on Miller CutOff leading up to Hwy 225.

During this time, you may notice flaring activity at the site including a visible flame or a rumbling noise. A flare is a safety device that uses combustion to safely treat and remove excess hydrocarbons. Directing materials to the flare for burning enables us to safety handle these materials as we prepare the unit to return to normal operations.

We strive to be a good corporate neighbor and wanted to make sure you are informed about the turnaround activity at The Complex and are aware of potential impacts to the traffic in the area around the site. Know that the safety of our workers and those who live and work near our facilities is our first priority. We apologize for any inconveniences to our neighbors. Please contact me if you have any further questions or concerns. I can be reached at 346-302-6732 or Kara.Slaughter@lyondellbasell.com.
