This year marks EHCMA’s 30th anniversary of making an impact on the economy and industry, and making good in the community.

Founded in 1987, EHCMA has grown from 76 members into the largest network of its kind in the world with more than 130 manufacturing companies with facilities across Houston, Deer Park, Baytown, Pasadena, North Channel and La Porte.

For 30 years, EHCMA has been dedicated to promoting and protecting the health, safety, security, environment and economic well-being of the petrochemical, refining and manufacturing industry. The industry in East Harris County:

• Supplies 33,000 jobs to the great Houston area
• Volunteers 280,000 hours each year in the community
• Contributes $12B a year in the Houston economy

EHCMA members frequently collaborate with industry leaders and educational institutions to improve regional workforce development, air quality, safety and much more and we’re excited to show how those relations have grown over the years.

To celebrate 30 years of this collaboration, EHCMA will embark on a campaign throughout the remainder of 2017 to raise awareness about how much of an impact the industry has made in the region in the last 30 years. Look out for monthly articles, timelines and throwback photos on social media in the months to come.
