Rod Herrick, Sr. Vice President, Covestro and Board Chair for East Harris County Manufacturers Association (EHCMA), has been named by Covestro as Global Head of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE). In this role Rod will lead the effort to ensure the Safety and Health of Covestro’s over 17,000 employees and the environmental responsibility of the 51 sites in the communities in which they operate. Community health, safe operations and environmental responsibility is foundational to EHCMA’S mission and as Chair of the Board, Rod has played a significant role in leading the organization’s best practice sharing in this capacity. He has been with member company Covestro (originally Bayer) since 1985, holding varying degrees of increased responsibility and executive leadership roles including participating on the company’s United States Country Council. Rod was Covestro’s Baytown Industrial Park’s site manager from 2010 to 2019, during which he led a site-wide initiative to improve the safety, reliability and efficiency of the Baytown plant. Rod will remain in the area and continue to lead EHCMA in implementing its strategic plan.
