WHAT IS CAER ONLINE?
Community Awareness Emergency Response (CAER) Online is a system for community members to view posted messages and alerts from EHCMA member facilities regarding operational updates.
CAER Online was created as a way for our members to give back to the communities where they live and work.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM CAER ONLINE
CAER Onlineis a community resource that provides information to the community about industrial incidents and events. Messages offer basic information such as what the incident or event is, where it happened, and whether any action is required by community members.
In late November 2017, the CAER system was upgraded to a new, simpler and more robust platform paving the way for the use of smart technology such as iPhone and Android devices to keep informed on alerts and events that occur at EHCMA member facilities in East Harris County.
Messages could include information about events involving & general information about:
- EMERGENCY RESPONSE
- RAIL CARS
- TANKER TRUCKS
Plant operators try to post urgent messages within 15 minutes of an event, however at times it may take longer. While CAER ONLINE Line is a valuable resource, community members should contact and follow instructions provided by local emergency managers during emergency situations.
