Attached is an order issued April 22 by Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo mandating  that residents cover their faces in public. The 30-day order is effective Monday, April 27. Face coverings can be simple masks, scarfs, bandannas, handkerchiefs, etc.  Harris County and City of Houston officials asked that residents not secure medical or N95 masks, reserving those for medical professionals and first responders.

Harris County has clarified that this order will not apply inside the fence line of petrochemical facilities. The County expects our industry to adhere to safety guidelines already developed to mitigate the COVID-19 exposure potential within plant facilities.

Governor Greg Abbott has stated that he will announce on Monday, April 27 a new Executive Order that will outline plans to reopen the Texas economy.
