 From Coastal Protection to Industry Accountability: Highlights from EHCMA's Annual Meeting

The East Harris County Manufacturers Association hosted its 2024 Annual Meeting on Tuesday evening, December 10, drawing a strong turnout of member company representatives and partner organizations. The event began with a festive happy hour and networking session, fostering connections among attendees. Executive Director MaryJane Mudd opened the evening program by welcoming guests and thanking EHCMA members for their continued efforts in producing essential products and fostering community resilience. 

The featured keynote address was given by Colonel Rhett Blackmon of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, who discussed significant projects impacting the local community.

EHCMA Annual Workforce Development Golf Tournament Raises Projected $102,000

In late October, 112 golfers across 28 teams gathered at Houston’s Wildcat Golf Course to support workforce development initiatives. This year’s tournament, aided by 28 student volunteers from five colleges, created a valuable networking platform for industry executives, including seven leaders and three EHCMA Board members. The Houston Business Journal has recognized EHCMA’s Executive Director, MaryJane Mudd, as an honoree for its 2024 Women Who Mean Business Awards in the Outstanding Nonprofit Business Leader category. This honor is the result of MaryJane’s business accomplishments as well as her civic leadership with organizations like Leadership Houston, the American Leadership Forum, the League of Women Voters and more.
